Who doesn’t love a good pun and theme? I love end of year gifts, or teacher appreciation gifts, for this very reason! A simple ole gift card is nice and all… but, pair it with a humorously themed gift and it spreads a smile even bigger (in my opinion ;)).

This year, my kids’ school polled all the teachers on some of their favorite things for appreciation week. Then, they kindly put it together in a spreadsheet to share with parents.
When I was getting ideas from my first grader for his end of year gift, he really was set on getting his teacher her favorite candy, Swedish fish. The year prior we did an “orange you glad it’s summer gift” and he really liked that idea.
With that in mind I looked up red themed puns/gifts. A quick Pinterest search and I came across a winner, RED-iculous! A bag, tote, or basket filled with red goodies.

Assemble All the Red
After reading more into the favorites list, we lucked out and several of his teacher’s favorite things happen to be red! She loved Dot’s Pretzels and Target. My son chose to add his favorite candy, Giggles, and then sprinkled in some red starbursts for pizzaz.
The gift card being the main thank you gift it was fun to let my son choose the bonus “goodies” to make it extra special.
Top it off with the gift tag to tie it all together and this may have been one of the easiest teacher gifts I’ve created.
